Hoping to make it to 2012 show

Well, one of my main goals in life was to enter my 85 Mustang from college in the Georgia Tech Auto Show.  I have less than 24 hours. The main thing it needed was paint.  It is at the body shop now, fully painted.  But the signature decal for the hood is on a UPS truck somewhere (I hope). The tires need to be replaced. The interior and engine bay need to be cleaned.  Don't be surprised if this doesn't happen. I'm gonna try for it.  But since this is reality and not reality TV, it might be next…See More

New Here?

This site is for the Georgia Tech Community (past and present) to share their interests, involvement and excitement for vehicle design, technology and engineering . Each Spring we get together at the Ga Tech Auto Show, but we wanted to keep the communication and collaborations going with each other between shows. If you want to be impressed, check out our website for a partial list of Ga Tech Gearheads who have made significant advances in this industry. They sure do make us proud!

To get started here: Why don't you spiff up your profile page, make it your own. Be sure to add a photo or you or your car so we can get to know you, and go ahead and add some widgets to your page.

Add Photos: Upload pics of your Vehicles or other related things like Car Shows.

Start or Contribute to Discussion Threads: Greet new members and find out who shares your interests. Offer Your Talents or Make Requests. If you have a job opening, or an internship, are looking for a job, would like to mentor someone, are looking for a mentor, have a vehicle that needs help or want some help, jump on in. Start a thread on the Discussion Forum.

Write a blog post: Do you have some news? Want to feature a friend for their accomplishments? Have some info to share? Pass on a great article you have read somewhere else? Then write a blog post about it here. Try and add a photo and if it is another article from somewhere else give us a synopsis then link us back to the original source.

Moonshine, NASCAR, Atlanta, and Georgia Tech

Just after the 4th of July (2009), I was up in Ashville, NC for a bluegrass festival. I wandered into a bookstore, and picked up a paperback called "Driving with the Devil" by Neal Thompson. It was supposed to be about the origins of NASCAR and how all the earliest drivers and cars were involved in moonshining. Seemed interesting...

But then, the book started talking about Atlanta, and Northside Drive, and Hemphill Street, the Varsity, and all the places that surround Georgia… Continue

Let Me Introduce Myself: Dave Lynn

Greetings fellow Georgia Tech automotive enthusiasts! I just want to take this opportunity to say hello; welcome you; and tell you a bit about myself.

I have had the pleasure of meeting many of you and also working with you on the annual Georgia Tech Auto Show (this affinity group was born largely out of that event) but too often we don't really get to know what everyone is up to and what their background may be. It is our hope that this website helps to fill in some of the blanks… Continue

Sunday Drive: 14 Hours from Wisconsin to South Georgia

I just returned from Wisconsin where I helped my parents to pack up and move to their vacation home in South Georgia. My job in all of this was to drive my father's Porsche. Fourteen hours of sweet solitude and great driving.
